Written Critique of Nick Karn

_SUPER_ SUPER_ SUPER_ SUPER_ SUPER_ SUPER_
Nick your animation is unlike anyone else’s. Instead of showing each action individually, you combined all of your actions into one SUPER-ACTION depicting the entire skateboarding process. By doing this you give more evidence of what your specific actions are, allowing the viewer to understand the message with only one viewing. I feel like you did a great job of depicting your actions. Even though you have “closely based actions” you separated them well. The only thing I would consider, with reference to each action’s duration, is making the kick and push actions seem more like separate movements. One way to achieve this would be to put a pause after each kick, just before the push and similar to the pause after the “stop” action. If you choose to make this adjustment, I have recommended, be careful to not make the pause to long. Having a pause that is too long could cause the message to change. DON’T LOSE THE SUPER!

So.. at my first view of this I was a little bit let down, Stopping at the end of the frame and not making any other use besides the entry felt empty and incomplete. I really like the concept but the movement does not seem real enough just yet. it kinda reminds me of how tony hawk. I really think you could play with the speed and movement. going across the frame in different directions and then coming to a stop after some time.. i think this would be a nice way to also split up kick and push a little more.
